As a result of the alignment with the ethical standards of European research and following the decision of the Senate Office no. 419 of 28.05.2008, all research projects within the UMF "Grigore T. Popa" Iasi, including doctoral projects will be subject to the ethical opinion BEFORE the research is carried out. he said. In this regard, the principal investigators are asked to submit the following documents to the Research Ethics Commission:
- Request for the ethical opinion, specifying: the title of the research project, the type of the project (doctoral, grant, etc.), the name and contact details of the principal investigator, the possible financing, approved or in the process of approval (in which case it will be mentioned the deadline for submitting the file), the possible partners.
- The research project, in the form approved by the scientific forum that made the evaluation (ex: the final project of the doctoral school, the project that won a grant competition, project evaluated by the scientific committee, etc.).
- The consent form for human subjects studies, completed after
informative guide..
For research in partnership, if the researcher from UMF Iaşi is the main coordinator of the study, he / she will ask the secondary coordinators from other university centers or partner research units to obtain the local ethical opinion.
In the case of animal research, the working conditions with these animals, the source of animal procurement, the type and number of animals, the explanation of the need for that species, the explanation of the need for that number, the animal research protocol (including euthanasia methods if applicable, or the situation of the animals after the end of the experiment, etc.)
The research ethics commission works according to the internal regulation established, approved by the UMF Senate, and published on the UMF website.
After the ethical opinion has been granted, any adverse event that occurred in the research subjects during the course of the study will be reported to the research ethics committee. The Research Ethics Commission has the right to decline its ethical opinion in case of non-observance of ethical principles and / or research legislation.
